Time to spring forward! Safe Kids USA is reminding everyone that this weekend when you change your clocks for Daylight Savings Time, that you should also change the batteries in your smoke alarms. Well, unless you live in AZ or another area that doesn’t do DST, don’t change your clocks, but still change the batteries in smoke alarms. Having a working smoke alarm reduces your chances of dying in a fire by half. In addition to changing the batteries, you should also test all your alarms monthly to make sure they still function. Smoke alarms also have a lifetime of 8-10 years, at which time the whole unit should be replaced. To learn more, click on the picture above to go to the Safe Kids USA website.
